N:B- This is a sequel to “Quarters in circle” whose link is attached below.

Most times don’t look like what we have been through.

Remember July? Yes, July, the one for love, for life and for living life fully; well, it was. July was beautiful, it was number 7, perfection. It was the dawn’s dew dripping on aloe-vera’ leaves as sunflowers open to morning’s radiance.
July was catching up with friends, was wining, whining , was dining; was humming different sizes because whatever Victony saw before he wrote that song is true, very true. I mean, have you been to Lagos bars? To clubs? lounges? Have you attended dinners, not the red-gown kind, the corset kind? The one where best-dressed is actually best-undressed and ladies struggle between holding their boobs from falling and forcing their skirt to drape over their g-strings. Yes, they wear g-strings and please don’t ask me how I know.

July was vain, was vanity, was daring it all, was tasting alcohol while listening to Joeboy’s alcohol and Dax’s dear alcohol. It is intriguing how two songs can have almost similar titles yet uttermost diverse content. July was a free-fall into the world of pleasure, only to be stopped by the angels who prevents our feet from nails and thorns. July was beautiful, it was an anticlimax for the rest of the quarter.

gorgeous gaze; pretty faces; .

August was grief; was your friend losing her dad, was an acquaintance losing her mum; was a distant colleague committing suicide. August was realising how transient life was. It was learning that silence could be a soothing solace and your presence is a priceless present. August was daring to dream, was opening up the self-imposed cage you have placed upon. August was options, was conversations with friends, was reorientation, was sudden realisation. You wished you knew why August yelled at you so much and longed for you to leave your comfort zone, maybe you would have prepared for september, sadly we can’t prepare for a war we don’t know about. Sadly.

When life throws you a curve, find solace in treasures, and comfort with allies.

The S in September stands for shege! You saw shege in every form. It was like each day woke up with the thought of torturing you. You know they say the -ember months are jinxed but you are supposed to declare positive things, afterall your name is Faith and God is with you but sometimes there is a delay between declarations and manifestations and that period is called temptations. Not the one P’square sang about.

September is doubting your self-worth, your abilities, your capacities, wondering how it all went wrong, where it went wrong, and what went wrong. September is greeting your friend good morning and seeing a beep saying “what’s good about this morning?” September is psychological uncertainty, it’s minus-zero energy level, it’s hugging depression in a warm embrace but refusing a romance. It’s realising that like NF sang, life doesn’t stop because you are in a bad mood.

September is +234 becoming +44, it’s Nigerians relocating like a termites migrating as “welcome to a new dispensation” splatter across your twitter timeline. It’s realising your friends are leaving, acquaintances are departing and there are chances you might not see anytime soon or see again.
September is friends and acquaintances asking you a simple question “how are you” and answers getting stuck in your throat because you are a thin line between a bucket of tears and a pail of migraine- and the emotions are rushing like the zealous zephyr that blows on harmattan mornings.

Friends winning🎉🍷✈️.

September is also friends winning, it’s platforms opening, it’s getting recognitions, and platforms, it’s signs and preludes that Q4 will be awesome. September is playing Greatman’s Commando knowing if God carries the world in his hand, then you are safe in his hands; is deciding to study Psalms, because David was probably more troubled than you are, and he survived, so you can.

October is glad tidings, it’s gifts, its Samson buying you crocs because he wants you to be a Gen-z by force; is Eunice sending you an original perf from the U.S, is friends volunteering to take you to movies, friends buying you books, friends paying for travel-up’s hangout, is friends showing up, really showing up for you. 😊.

October is water, is beach, is peace, is calm amidst the storm, its taking a step a time, not rushing decisions, is adapting to change, it’s keeping your head above the tides as you swim towards the shore, knowing at the riverbank lies hidden treasure waiting to be explored.

Friends winning, platforms opening.
